Brahman Cattle

In our Brahman herd we breed for moderate frame, heavy muscled, docile, Polled Brahmans.  When we only ran commercial cattle in our operation, we had a few commercial Brahman heifers. When we decided to add a Purebred Brahman bull to breed to our Brahman heifers we were certain that we did not want a horned bull, as we did not want to have to dehorn our calves if at all possible.  Little did we know, at that time especially, Polled Brahman genetics were really hard to come by.  The closest polled Brahman bull we could find was a 7 month old calf located in Georgia, so we made the trip and purchased our first Polled Brahman.  We saw that as an opportunity to use our new Polled herdsire to produce additional registered Polled Brahmans and offer those Polled genetics in the Carolinas. 

A large majority of the Polled Brahman bloodlines are found in Texas and the surrounding states, we purchased our first two Polled Donors from South Texas ranches and we are currently using them to build our Polled Brahman offering.  With the current limitations on Polled Cattle offerings, we are also relying on Embryo Transfers to get access to genetics that otherwise would not be available to us.  While a big focus for us is our cattle being polled, we also want to produce high quality, functional, "beef type" cattle that will work well in commercial crossbreeding programs as well.
